Your smile can make or break you!

From Mona Lisa to today’s cover girls, the absence or presence of a dazzling smile has always carried great significance.

It is a reliable indication of a person’s sense of well-being and has an enormous impact on a person’s health, self-esteem and both personal and business relationships.

In short, a beautiful smile makes people:

  • more attracted to you;
  • more disposed to like you;
  • more eager to do business with you; and
  • more eager to help you with any kind of favour you need.

So, if a smile is so important, why don’t more people smile, and why don’t they smile more often?

The answer is simple: They are ashamed and embarrassed by their teeth!

“I hate my smile!”

We’ve heard this said often.

You’d be amazed at the number of people who avoid smiling or try to hide their smile.

When their smile isn’t working, they simply do not look their best.

There are many reasons why people don’t like the appearance of their teeth. For example, some people have teeth that are too small, or too crooked; gapped or overlapped; stained or discoloured; chipped, broken and worn down; even twisted.

And almost everyone wishes their teeth were whiter!

That’s the bad news.

The good news is, that every one of these problems can now be corrected by a cosmetic dentist, in an average of only two visits.

Ways to achieve a picture-perfect smile

The best way of course, is to be born with perfect teeth, and then take perfect care of them for the rest of your life. That takes care of about 1 person in every 10 on earth!

For those people with yellow but well shaped teeth, an easy and effective option is tooth whitening.

For the rest of us, one option is implants. This is a great option for those who are missing teeth and do not like dentures. Small titanium screws are placed in the jaw bone, becoming the roots for new teeth. It works beautifully and looks great!

Or, you could have all your teeth capped and/or crowned. This works well if teeth were extensively broken down or filled and would help prevent teeth from fracturing further. This process requires significant reduction of your natural tooth structure, a considerable amount of dental work, and a corresponding amount of expense.

A more conservative choice for many people is Porcelain Veneers. In the early 1980’s many Hollywood celebrities were among the first to use Porcelain Veneers to create their picture perfect smiles. Porcelain is used to sculpt a ‘cover’, which is bonded onto the tooth enamel to improve the color, shape, and alignment of teeth.

Here are some of the reasons why Veneers are a great option for many people:

  • Porcelain is very strong and stain resistant! It has the same translucent polychromatic shade quality as natural tooth enamel and can give your smile a healthy, younger-looking glow.
  • With Porcelain Veneers, you can retain the strength and structure of your natural teeth. The only preparation your dentist performs, is a slight reduction of the existing surface enamel (about 1/2 millimeter, which is about the thickness of a contact lens!).
  • Veneers can be used to respace and re-align your teeth!
  • Veneers can be used to straighten or close spaces, without braces.
  • If gaps, twisted, misaligned or crooked teeth keep you from smiling, Veneers can be a Godsend.

I don’t want it to hurt at all!

There is now a way your dentist can give you an almost 100% pain-free injection. Oral Conscious Sedation is safe and effective, allowing most clients to feel like they are sleeping through a procedure when in fact they are awake but in a very dreamlike and relaxed state. Our clients “wake up” with their new smiles and often do not remember anything about the procedure!

It must be expensive?

The truth is, it may be more costly not to have a wonderful smile, than to go to the expense of having one... Our clients have shared countless stories with us about how their confidence and self-esteem have been boosted by a perfect smile and what a life-changing experience it has been for them.

Some report having become more effective in their businesses, while others’ social lives and intimate relationships have improved, simply because they could look people in the eye again and smile from their hearts.

Our client Jacinta said to us,

“you can’t put a price on the difference my new smile has made to my life, I am more confident, more effective in my job, I can give more freely of myself and I can finally reach my full potential. I wish I had done this years ago.”

What is the process?

Simply call for your first complimentary discussion. We will discuss your goals and what you want to achieve with your dream smile. Then we’ll explain all of the options available to you, for achieving the picture perfect smile you’re looking for. We will give you the opportunity to view dozens of “before” and “after” photographs of people whose teeth once had similar imperfections to those your teeth have. You will leave with a good idea of the expected results and the costs. Then if you decide to go ahead, we will make another appointment with you where we will design the ‘blueprint’ for your new smile, to make it as individual as you are! We will do a mock up of your new teeth so you can view your new smile before we touch any of your teeth! Once you are happy with the blueprints, the smile makeover can be completed in two easy visits, while you are “sleeping”.
